Greetings, gremlins, and welcome to our first card pull for the month of May!

May is a month of many things. Today, it is May the Fourth, and if you're a Star Wars fan, you know the significance, so Happy Star Wars Day, fellow nerds! However, May is also affectionately known in artistic circles as MerMay, where artists of all kinds flood social media with mermaid content. Be it art or cosplay, so long as it's mermaids, it's fair game. While I'm not much of an artist, I do try to participate in my own way by breaking out the Oracle of the Mermaids throughout the month of May. It feels appropriate for the month, honestly.

(I know, I know. We're due a tarot deck in our rotation soon. That's for next month.)

As always, before we get to this week's reading, please make sure you are all nice and cozy before you continue reading this post. This is not necessarily a reflection of what card will be drawn. In fact, I'm typing this bit before I've even drawn a card. However, I find that coziness helps put me in a better space to receive whatever message the cards may have for me.

Also, please remember that this is a general reading for the collective. It might resonate with you or it might not, and that's fine. Take what you need from this or don't. It's entirely your choice.

Now that we've gone through our reading preamble, let's get into our card for the week and answer our usual question: "What do my followers need to keep in mind to live their best lives this week?"

Our answer comes in the form of Sisterhood, a reminder that despite what we may think sometimes, we're not truly alone.

Sometimes, we might think we are. Sometimes, we might think that no one out there will ever truly understand us, and that plunges us into the depths of our despair, not unlike the deepest parts of the ocean where light barely reaches. But the truth is that our people are out there and we can find them if we look.

Now, that's not to say that you might not have people like that in your life already. However, this week, you may find more. More people that you can forge a genuine connection with. More people who understand whatever your current situation is.

And it might be difficult to try to let them in, but please consider doing it. It'll be worth it in the long run.
