Weekly Divination: What to Keep in Mind This Week (04 September 2022)

Greetings, gremlins! It's time once again for our weekly card pull!

A quick heads up before we go into the card for this week, though, if you'll indulge me. Starting NEXT MONTH, these are no longer going to be freely available. They're going behind a supporter wall. So if you want to make sure you continue to see these, make sure you either join the Fanhouse or get set up as a monthly sub over on Ko-fi. There will be more details regarding the Ko-fi membership thing in the coming weeks, but that's going to be over on that platform. So if you want to follow me over there to make sure you don't miss that information, there's going to be a link to my page at the bottom of this post.

All right. Now for the card for the week.

Since we hadn't seen it in such a long time, I decided to bring the Believe in Your Own Magic Oracle Deck back out. I like this deck a lot for the simplicity and the cozy vibes it gives me.

Our card this week is called Mural, and it comes with a reminder that we're allowed to be our own first priority.

Now, I don't know about all of you, but sometimes, I genuinely forget that. Sometimes, I give so much of myself to other people that I forget about myself. This is despite learning a lesson I came to learn only when I started taking on a healer role in MMOs.

    What was that lesson?

"I'm allowed to take a second to heal myself because if my health bar goes to zero hit points, everyone else's will, too."

If we put this in more of a real-world context, people in general have invisible bars of energy that get depleted throughout the day. Each task or interaction depletes that energy bar as the day goes on. Some people have a larger bar to work with than others. Sometimes that bar gets depleted by the end of the day. Some people run with the bar completely empty for several days at a time. But if you don't replenish that invisible energy bar, you'll have nothing left to give to the tasks you need to do or to the people around you.

Remember that it's okay to be a little selfish. You're allowed to take some time to put yourself first, especially if you're the sort of person who tries to meet the demands of everyone around them. Take some time this week to step back and make sure you're okay.

You're allowed to do that, you know.

If you enjoyed this post and are perhaps interested in acquiring a reading of your very own, I do keep tarot commissions open over on my Ko-fi.

I also have a shop full of all of the commission readings you can find up there, plus a couple of extras I won't be sharing anywhere else. You can find it over here.
