Greetings, all, and welcome to our first card pull for the month of May! Hooray!
(And before anyone asks, no, I will not keep up the rhyming for the entirety of this post.)
Welcome one and all to Mermay! Unfortunately, my art skills leave quite a bit to be desired. However, as is tradition now, I'm bringing out my Oracle of the Mermaids deck to read with for the month. It isn't one of the decks in my regular reading rotation. In fact, if you go back through the tags, I only ever pull it out in May. But it feels right as we start to shift into the warmer months, so.... here we go!
As always, before we get to this week's reading, please make sure you are all nice and cozy before you continue reading this post. This is not necessarily a reflection of what card will be drawn. In fact, I'm typing this bit before I've even drawn a card. However, I find that coziness helps put me in a better space to receive whatever message the cards may have for me.
Also, please remember that this is a general reading for the collective. It might resonate with you or it might not, and that's fine. Take what you need from this or don't. It's entirely your choice.
Now that we've gone through our reading preamble, let's get into our card for the week and answer our usual question: "What do my followers need to keep in mind to live their best lives this week?"
Our answer comes in the form of Telepathy, and despite the fact that I'm sure the name calls to mind the image of someone reading someone else's mind, that's not exactly what this card is getting at.
No, this card is indicating something far different: issues with communication.
There may be something that needs to be said this week that someone is potentially struggling with and they're hoping that whoever it needs to be said to is picking up the signs they're trying to put out into the world. The problem is that the other person might either be missing those signs or outright ignoring them, and this can lead to all kinds of problems. Not directly telling the other person what's going on can lead to boundaries being violated or needs not being met.
Unfortunately, people are not mind readers. And while it can absolutely be scary to communicate things like this to someone else, the other person isn't going to know what's going on unless they're told.
It's okay to be afraid to speak, though. We're all a little afraid sometimes, but it would be to your benefit this week to take a chance to speak up. You might surprise yourself at how quickly you can get to the heart of things.

If you enjoyed this post and are perhaps interested in acquiring a reading of your very own, I do keep tarot commissions open over on my Ko-fi.
I also have a shop full of all of the commission readings you can find up there, plus a couple of extras I won't be sharing anywhere else. You can find it over here.
