Weekly Divination Reading: What to Keep in Mind This Week (07 January 2024)
Greetings, gremlins, and welcome to our very first card pull of 2024! Are you all excited? Because I certainly am!
This would normally be the part where I go on about 2023 and all the readings I did for the year, but you know what? You probably don't care about that. You probably care more about the reading for the week, so why don't we just get to it?
We're back to tarot cards this week, but I'm utilizing a deck I haven't actually shared with you all before! I treated myself to a new-to-me deck for Christmas, but the art style might look familiar to you. That's because this particular deck, the Cozy Witch Tarot Deck, is by the same people who made the Believe In Your Own Magic Oracle Deck that I use sometimes for these weekly card pulls and often for my divination vibe checks over on Twitch.
This particular deck is nice and cozy and even has very similar vibes to the oracle deck, so if you enjoyed the oracle deck, you'll probably love this one.
As always, we're answering our usual question: "What do my followers need to keep in mind to live their best lives this week?"
Our answer is a reversed Ten of Wands, and y'all, have you been taking on too much already?
I know there's always a temptation to try to take on more than you can really handle, especially in the early stages of a new year. I don't know about elsewhere in the world, but in the United States, there's a tendency for people to fall into a "new year, new me" mindset where we feel like we need to completely change everything about us that didn't work the year before, and we need to do that immediately.
Add to that the fact that we live in a capitalist society where all of us are under the impression we have to constantly be working to have worth and to truly matter to the world, and you've got a recipe for disaster.
Here's the thing, though: burning out and exhausting yourself? Not the badge of honor that capitalism seems to think it is. (And if capitalism thinks it is, I can guarantee you that part of your brain agrees with it.)
You don't need to do all of the things immediately. You don't have to keep adding things to the ever-growing pile that is your life. You are allowed to step back and take some of that off of your plate.
Listen to your inner voice this week. Don't let yourself take on more than you think can reasonably handle, and if you hit a point where you start thinking to yourself that "enough is enough," maybe see what you can realistically set aside or give to someone else.
Take care of your mental health this week, folks, and please don't let yourself burn out. You deserve better than that.

If you enjoyed this post and are perhaps interested in acquiring a reading of your very own, I do keep tarot commissions open over on my Ko-fi.
I also have a shop full of all of the commission readings you can find up there, plus a couple of extras I won't be sharing anywhere else. You can find it over here.
