Weekly Divination Reading: What to Keep in Mind This Week (03 November 2024)
Greetings, gremlins, and welcome to our first card pull for the month of November! I don't know about all of you, but the shift from October to November typically feels like an abrupt jump off a cliff from Spooky Season straight into the holidays. Logically, I know that's not true. Spooky Season can be forever in our hearts, after all!
But regardless, we're off in a new month, so that means we get a new deck! This month, we're bringing back the Threads of Fate Oracle. My edition is specifically the Shadow Edition of the deck, but it seems as though the publishers no longer sell this one. However, it still comes in two other editions which are equally beautiful that might intrigue you, as well:Â Lumen and Ascendant.
Now that we've met our deck for this month, let's see what card we're working with this week to answer our usual question: "What do my followers need to keep in mind to live their best lives this week?"
This week, our answer comes in the form of Shadow, which feels amusingly fitting considering we're just coming out of spooky season. However, unlike looking at the shadows of the world, this card invites us to turn our gaze inwards.
Whether we admit it to ourselves or not (and many of us do not), we all have aspects of ourselves that we deem unacceptable. This could be any number of things: sadness, fear, rage, cruelty, personal power, emotional sensitivity... just to name a few. We tend to compartmentalize those things and bury them deep down within us, pretending they don't exist, because for whatever reason, we perceive them as bad.
And they lurk, and linger, and fester, eating away at us. As they do, we become ashamed of those parts of ourselves, and we lock them away.
But the truth is that we do not need to be ashamed of these things. Those are as much a part of ourselves as the more public parts that we put out in the world, and denying them keeps us from our true potential. Finding where these aspects are and what they stem from are how we come to be ourselves completely, and denying them doesn't really do ourselves any favors.
Seek them out. Start to work with them, even if it's only a little bit. You may find you're happier in the long run.
